I started programming when I was 10 years old on an old TRS-80. It came with a book on basic. While all my other friends were playing Nintendos, I was designing and playing my own text adventure games. I enjoyed learning Basic, Pascal, and then Java throughout high school and into some college, but then life happened. Coming from a family that lived paycheck to paycheck, I started the same rat-race. Got a full-time job in a restaurant, eventually became a Manager, then a General Manager and my career was set.

Fast forward 10 years later. I moved across country to California with my soon to be wife, took a break to deal and play poker, and now have decided to focus full-time on something that has been a passion of mine for over 20 years.

Currently I am learning full stack web technologies. LAMP, MEAN, Ruby (on rails). I am enrolled in a coding bootcamp while passionately absorbing all of the knowledge I can. I have been involved in several projects over the last 5 years, making my own web store including my own from scratch shopping cart with PHP and MySQL.

My hobbies include playing tournament poker (a career highlight: playing in the World Series of Poker Main Event), reading and watching anything coding related - most recently some great videos from Angular-conf, and spending time with my fiance and two dogs.

I have the time to learn and the ability to choose an employer that will be fun to work for, and will appreciate a person that loves what he does.
