The lack of description that lead to demoting the answer is unfortunate: this is actually a solution for the problem. Enabling the hidden recording stereo mixer one can replicate the audio from the default device on another device, which for me resolved the issue.

The PORT will not change when accepting the connection, but yes, you'll get a new SOCKET. You may want to find out what a PORT is and what a SOCKET is.

There is no port change when you accept a connection on the server, otherwise how would a server be able to accept multiple connections. Also, socket.accept() returns a tuple (socket, remote_address), not (socket, port).
