Thanks :) This worked for me but according to the explanation in the documentation that i linked in your answer the correct way is attribute__((__format (printf, 3, 0))) because the format is const char *fmt (third parameter).

i tried using extern in the test file.. like this: extern graph *new_graph(int n); at the top of the test file but it not worked..
