What I need to do is process the rows in a specific order while accumulating data, and do edge detection when a field changes to store the accumulated data in a different table. Unfortunately I'm working with an unwieldy schema and I can't figure out a nice, non-procedural way to do the edits.

comment How to use many cursors in a single store procedure in MySQL
I get Error Code: 1413. Duplicate handler declared in the same block , so it may not even be legal.

fancyPants, The MySQL docs you linked to has one continue handler for two cursors. Do the multiple declare continue [...] not found [...] automatically associate with the cursors that were declared in the order they were declared?

comment Get data structure from model in DRF
I believe it caused problems for me with regard to field existence testing. The old typeof(foo.bar) being undefined vs null. To restate, that code is a bit of a jalopy :-D Glad you found it useful. I want to productize it some day, because I feel that mechanism is currently lacking in the DRF ecosystem, but it needs a whole rewrite now that I understand js and promises a little better.

I hook into grunt to auto generate the files when models.py or serializers.py or urls.py change.

Put this code in <app>/management/commands/rest_framework_2_js.py and then run it with python manage.py rest_framework_2_js dest.js app_name.js e.g. python manage.py rest_framework_2_js app/scripts/gen/qc_srvr.js qc_srvr

I'm still using DRF 2.4.4, but I wrote an interface parser to automate some of the client-side initialization that must occur after receiving a response back from DRF ( such as converting DateTimeField to a js Date, creating a pre/post request framework to manipulate an object before sending/ after receiving.) The code that it generates is specifically for AngularJS. Anyways, it is not ready for primetime and it is a bit ragged, but that code may give you a start about how to crawl through the serializers to the info you want.

comment Silicon bugs, errata sheets
When I was working on ASICs at a company (in RTL, not in layout/backend), I heard that a mask set can cost north of $3 million. On a small team/asic, each new set of masks could easily increase your NRE by 10%. Anyways, that's the ballpack for numbers I heard in my 8 years doing chip dev' without ever being involved in actually buying the mask set.

comment Django Rest Framework filterset on many to many field
In DRF 2.4.4, you have to specify filter_backends in the viewset like filter_backends = (filters.DjangoFilterBackend,filters.OrderingFilter,)
