Unfortunately this would normalize the line endings, ie if the file contains \n and \r\n you would strip them all and replace them by \n depending on the situation you may or may not want to do this. The most obvious side effect is the character count would differ from the original file and the created string.

@LawrenceDol And I never said otherwise, in the example even the method is marked as public explicitly, but the interface is not public, so its method cannot be accessed the package, hence making them effectively package protected.
