I don't think that is the issue here. The resulting file path is /sdcard/Music/Awesome Music My Music.mp3 and not /sdcard/Music/Awesome Music/My Music.mp3. He does want that folder to be inside Music.

The code seems right. Could you log the path of mediaStorageDir and make sure that its correct? Also, could you provide the resulting file name?

@Sathesh : Yes, the key is unique. Inserting multiple values with the same key will over-write the previously inserted one.

So I do not think that its because the list is being re-populated multiple times.

The code is being called multiple times frequently. Now if I cache the bitmap, and call the callback on the same thread (since there is no blocking operation) instead of using the handler, there is no flicker. And if I call the callback using the handler, the flicker happens again.
