comment Codeigniter calling different API's - where to put the API calls
Noooo I know how to use them. I have made my own MY_Controller and extended all my other CI controllers to include the files at the top. That way I can have a common function to instantiate the API Auth and have all controllers access it. It's just I seem to be repeating code between controllers for simple tasks.

comment PHP submitting wildcard characters in a string
Yes that's the problem, if there are two or more 0's and/or O's, just converting one digit to the other would not work because it could be any combination of them. i.e. could be xxx0xO0 or xxxOx00 or xxx0x0O do you see what I mean? The value needs to be a wildcard, and the mysql needs to treat the 0's and O's to be the same, not just switch them.

comment PHP submitting wildcard characters in a string
Thanks for the reply. Say the code is W45FO0O2 - and this is not recognised, then doing the replace would only switch the values around.. what if the code was actually W45F00O2, the str_replace wouldn't work because at best it would just invert the characters to the other one, not try all combinations of where 0 and O could appear?

comment Should we give id's to <hr> <br> etc?
I don't think they are bad to use, I just personally wouldn't because you get much more flexibility when using div and span. It probably a case of preference IMO. as saiud here: stackoverflow.com/questions/462619/… its not bad to use them
