I'm a Ruby, Python, PHP, and Lua programmer. Most of my projects have been web-based collaboration sites to help my coworkers communicate and trade information more effectively, and lots of one-off utilities to shoehorn data into fussy systems. I'd love nothing more than to fulfill my goal of becoming a teacher (pay be damned!) and I'm working on my degree to do just that.

comment HTML5 Input Type Date -- Default Value to Today?
@UsmanY It's part of the HTML5 spec, so anything that supports HTML5 input types should support valueAsDate. html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/forms.html#dom-input-valueasdate

comment How to extract more insightful UX requirements from User
Along the lines of @immibis' train of thought, you might consider asking five "why" questions (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5_Whys) to learn the user's reasoning for the button. That could help you solve the actual problem ("The button is easier to use; because otherwise I have to switch apps; because I don't like switching apps, because it takes too long to switch apps") instead of the "problem" at hand.
