comment ZFS volume as ISCSI target
If you are using FreeNAS with VMWare, use NFS. There are some space freeing bugs in the iSCSI implementations in the current stable FreeNAS releases. They are being fixed, but NFS works well out of th ebox

You should try switching to using OpenVPN under pfSense. it's relatively easy to setup and it will work when tethered via your iPhone, etc. Also it is a lot more secure the PPTP

Have you asked Microsoft via your CustomerSource login? You may want to consider doing that in case you run into some issues down the road and then need their help

comment HP LaserJet 1300 printer "Print Error", Windows 7 x64
@Alexander We ran into the same issue with issue with the HP 1100 and 1200 series. The driver is not stable and it crashes the windows PrintSpooler service. even HUPing the service doesn't fix the problem sometimes.

@ewwhite Cost is the only real issue with CrashPlan ProE (CPPE). We budget the cost to be around $60 per user per year on low volumes. You pay per user who can have up to 4 machines included in that license. There is no cost for the server portion. That allows us to use a big master server and several smaller NAS type boxes for distributed off-site backups. For ZFS we have been using OpenSolaris/Nexenta. We will probably switch over to FreeBSD/NAS 10 for the next project due to the strangeness in Nexenta's release cycle.

Avoid Retrospect. It was great at some point. We have been using it since version 2.0 when Dantz owned. It's out of date and not as reliable as other options
